What makes a heating product green?

The term “green” shouldn’t be defined by a label, rebate or the amount of money spent on the promotion and lobbying for any particular product. Going green isn’t a forced-air furnace turning gas into heat. Typically, 40% or more of heat energy is lost in a standard forced-air system. A heating product is green when it creates comfort in a given space and produces a low carbon footprint. CeramiCircuit™radiant heating panels are green because they efficiently produce heat energy and deliver that heat directly to the individual and objects in the room.

CeramiCircuit™ heating systems supply energy directly to panels on the wall or ceiling of a given space. The system then converts 100% of this energy into heat energy and delivers the heat energy from the panel to the people and objects in the room.

Our heaters are more efficient than convective baseboard and forced-air heating because no energy is lost through ducts or the inefficient transfer of air to heat. Air only conducts 13% of heat energy, creating the need for inefficient ductwork and blower motors to deliver comfort. The Department of Energy estimates that 40% or more of heat energy is lost in a standard forced-air system. The lack of moving air can also provide comfort to people with allergies and/or chemical sensitivities.

Our radiant panels have a much quicker response time than other types of green heating equipment, including many competing radiant systems. Original manufacturing, installation, service and replacement of equipment has a negative impact on our environment. For example, it takes one wind turbine over 13 years working at 100% operational capacity to make up for the carbon footprint produced in its manufacturing and installation. Once installed, the need for service or replacement of CeramiCircuit™ heaters is minimal. We have panels that have been operating in the field for over 60 years with no service or maintenance.
