We'd like to share the results of recent studies conducted and published by various researchers:
College of Engineering at West Virginia University
A radiant electric heat system was much more energy efficient than a comparable electric convective baseboard heating system.
The same radiant electric heat system provided more uniform heat distribution than the electric convective baseboard system.
There was less extreme variation in room temperatures from floor to ceiling than with the electric convective baseboard system.
Zmeureanu (1988)
Study was conducted during December in Montreal, Canada using a single room office with one exterior wall.
For a given level of thermal comfort, radiant heating is more economical than a warm air system.
Peak load of radiant heating system was 38% lower than conventional systems.

Study of energy conservation using IR radiant heaters installed at workplaces in industrial buildings.
IR heaters have advantages for energy savings, economy of operation and are more environmentally friendly than convective heaters.

The objective of this study was to examine principles and new results that could be the basis of providing excellence in future indoor environments.
Better indoor air quality (IAQ) increase productivity and decreases sick building syndrome (SBS).
Unnecessary indoor pollution sources should be avoided.
Air should be served cool and dry to the occupants
Individual control of thermal environment should be provided.
Lin (2002)

Using a mathematical modeling of a building, this study evaluated a developed multi-sensor, single-actuator control of HVAC systems.
In terms of energy performance and comfort, multi-sensor control strategies were better than a single-sensor strategy.
Energy-optimal strategy reduced energy consumption by 17%, while reducing PPD from 30% to 24%.
Comfort-optimal strategy reduced energy consumption by 4%, while reducing PPD from 30% t 20%.

Goal of study was to define the level of thermal comfort in an occupied space (room) while optimizing the position of a radiant space heating unit.
Changing the position of the radiant heating unit can save14% of heating energy while maintaining the same level of comfort.
Freire (2008)
This study used control algorithms with a single actuator system to assess thermal comfort optimization while minimizing energy consumption.
Control algorithms used can simultaneously promote thermal comfort and energy consumption reduction due to the ability of PMV controller to adapt to individual parameters.
Watanabe (2010)
The objective of this study was to identify separate and combined heating and cooling effects on Individual Control System (ICS) options for optimal design
In terms of preferred thermal environments, the heating system components should have short response time and higher capacity to cope with large individual differences amount occupants.
